Frank M. & Gertrude R. Doyle Foundation Scholarships

Deadline: February 1st The Frank M. & Gertrude R. Doyle Foundation Scholarships is a need-based scholarship program that supports students who are permanent residents of California’s Orange County and Nevada’s Washoe County. The scholarship award ranges from $500 to $30,000 annually and there is no GPA requirement, Desired applicants must be aged 17 or older, be graduating seniors or graduates of the Washoe County School District or Huntington Beach Union High School District, and gain admission at accredited U.S. two- or four-year institutions. Reno Rodeo Foundation Scholarships

Deadline: February 13 The Reno Rodeo Foundation Scholarship program is available to eligible Northern Nevada high school graduates, especially college-bound freshmen who have participated in Rodeo, FFA, or 4-H activities The scholarship award is a minimum of $1,000 annually. Eligible applicants must graduate from high schools in Northern Nevada, Exhibit a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in grades 9-12, and enrol in the Nevada System of Higher Education unless their declared major isn’t offered. The applicant must also be able to show a need for financial assistance. All applicants will be notified by mail about the final status of their application on or before April 30th. Western Arts & Culture Scholarship

Deadline: February 13 The Western Arts & Culture Scholarship is also offered, in addition to the Reno Rodeo Foundation Scholarship, to two selected students for $2,500 and $1,000 each. The scholarship is meant to provide some sort of financial support for the upcoming academic school year. To be considered applicants must first complete the Reno Rodeo Foundation Scholarship, meet all the eligibility requirements, answer four additional questions and submit video links to three art samples. Nevada’s Otto Huth Scholarship

Deadline: April 15th Awarded by Nevada’s Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS), the Otto Huth Scholarship is offered to youth who have aged out of the foster system and wish to attend an accredited two-year trade school or four-year university. It is one of the scholarship opportunities for college students in 2022. The scholarship is intended to cover tuition, on-campus room and board, student health, on-campus meal plans, and books. Successful applicants can reapply for the scholarship for a maximum of 5 years – up to $40,000. The desired applicants must have obtained a high school diploma or GED, register full-time at an accredited Nevada college, and maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or better. The following documents are to be submitted as part of the application process: the FAFSA form, two recommendation letters, and two personal essays. Arciniega, Edward Scholarship

Deadline: March 31st The Community Foundation of Western Nevada Scholarship program comprises of scholarships available to students going to school in Nevada and would require either need-based or merit-based financial assistance. The scholarships are generally open for applications from January 1 and due June 30 annually. One of such scholarships is the Arciniega, Edward Scholarship which is available for graduating seniors from the following schools in Western Nevada: Churchill County High School, Charter School, or from a Churchill County Home-school program, and plan  to enroll at a 2-4 year college, having studied a foreign language for at least 4 years. Claudine Williams Harrah’s Las Vegas Employee Scholarship

Deadline: March 30th The Community Foundation of Western Nevada Scholarship program comprises of scholarships available to students going to school in Nevada and would require either need-based or merit-based financial assistance. The scholarships are generally open for applications from January 1 and due June 30 annually. Another of such scholarship is the Claudine Williams Harrah’s Las Vegas Employee Scholarship which is available to any high school senior or current college student (GED acceptable) whose parent or guardian is a full-time employee in grade L14 or below and employed by Harrah’s for at least three consecutive years when the application is submitted. Stockman, John, Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: April 30th The Community Foundation of Western Nevada is one of the Scholarship Opportunities for College Students 2022. The program comprises scholarships available to students going to school in Nevada and would require either need-based or merit-based financial assistance. The scholarships are generally open for applications from January 1 and due June 30 annually. The Stockman, John, Memorial Scholarship is one of such scholarships. It is available for a graduating senior from high school or home school in Washoe, Douglas, Carson City, Storey, Lyon, and Churchill counties, and South Lake Tahoe High School. Scholarship Website

Stegelmeyer, Eugene & Nadine Scholarship

Deadline: March 1st The Community Foundation of Western Nevada Scholarship program comprises scholarships available to students going to school in Nevada and would require either need-based or merit-based financial assistance. The scholarships are generally open for applications from January 1 and due June 30 annually. The Stegelmeyer, Eugene & Nadine Scholarship is also one of such scholarships. The scholarship is offered to graduating seniors in a Washoe County High School (or students pursuing post-secondary or graduate studies in teaching and/or geriatrics) who will attend teaching and/or geriatric programs through a community or junior college, private school, or accredited college or university—in or outside of Nevada. Satre, Phil and Jennifer, Medical Education Scholarship

Deadline: April 1st Also administered under the Community Foundation of Western Nevada Scholarship program, the Satre, Phil and Jennifer, Medical Education Scholarship is offered to provide financial assistance for college students who plan to pursue or who are already pursuing a medical degree. This scholarship is available from the junior undergraduate year through medical school for individuals who are committed to pursuing a medical degree—and with the intent to practice in Nevada. It is a one-time award of up to $1,000 for a student who is pursuing a medical degree or certificate program at any of the following colleges: Truckee Meadows Community College, Western Nevada College, or Great Basin College. NV Energy Powerful Partnership Scholarship

Deadline: February 10th The NV Energy Powerful Partnership Scholarship is available for high school seniors in the northern Nevada service area and dependents of NV Energy employees. The scholarship award is valued at up to $1,000 for 30 successful applicants and 2 additional $2,000 scholarships for dependents of NV Energy employees. Desired applicants must be outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership in academics and community service. Scholarship Website

UNR Presidential Scholarship

Deadline: February 1 Administered at the University of Nevada-Reno, the UNR Presidential Scholarships is offered to high-achieving seniors who enroll for a 4-year bachelor’s program at the University. The scholarship award is up to an amount of $8,000 annually, totaling up to $32,000 for a period of four years. Priority is given to new bachelor’s students admitted before February 1st. Applicants are only considered thereafter if funding remains available. Eligible applicants should be full-time incoming freshmen with 15+ university credits, have scored at least 31 on the ACT or 1420 on the SAT, and excel academically with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher. Furman University Charles H. Townes Scholarship

Deadline: January 05 Awarded by Furman University, the Charles H. Townes Scholarship is one of the opportunities for College Students 2022 offered to U.S. high school seniors who reside outside of South Carolina and plan to enroll in an undergraduate program at Furman University. The scholarship award is valued at s$35,000 annually, renewable for up to three years if the student maintains a grade point average of 2.7 or higher. The award also includes a study abroad scholarship of $2,000, a $3,000 stipend for a summer internship or research experience, and the opportunity to participate in Public Leadership Seminars. Kenny C. Guinn Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: April 1st Administered by the Nevada State Treasurer’s Office, the Kenny C. Guinn Memorial Scholarship is one of the scholarship opportunities for College Students 2022. It is a merit-based fund which is offered to two Nevada residents studying at any of the following colleges in Nevada: University of Nevada, Reno; University of Nevada Las Vegas; Great Basin College; Nevada State College; and Sierra Nevada College – and state a commitment to teaching in Nevada upon graduation. The scholarship is worth up to $4,500 each offered to one Northern and one Southern Nevada resident annually. A major requirement for the scholarship is that the successful applicant must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or above during their stay in College. Scholarship Website

Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship

Deadline: December 07 The Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship is awarded annually to High school seniors who are residents of an area serviced by Comcast. Some of these areas include Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, Wisconsin, etc. The award is valued at a non-renewable $2,500 annually and approximately 2,000 awards offered annually Scholarship Website

Bervin Hall Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: December 01 Awarded by the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), the Bervin Hall Memorial Scholarship is awarded to college juniors or graduate students.  It is one of the scholarship opportunities for College Students 2022, especially from the US states of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming, who have been enrolled for a degree in occupational safety and health, or a cognate discipline. The Bervin Hall Memorial Scholarship requires that the applicant be an ASSE Student Member. If the student is not already an ASSE member, he/she may apply for membership at the time of scholarship application.
